Currently teaching American Government in both lecture and online format at St. Petersburg College. Previously, I have taught Human Rights and Justice as part of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Residential Program, and one semester of International Relations online at the University of Kansas.
Graduate Teaching Assistant
As a GTA at the University of Kansas, I have taught two semesters of International Relations, and two of Comparative Politics under professors. I have led full lectures and multiple discussion sections, and developed and graded both papers and exams.
I have worked under multiple professors on several research projects. This involved researching and writing the literature review, gathering quantitative data for the creation of a database or qualitative data from interviews. These projects analyzed the influence of terrorism on migration, supported the Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Initiative (ASHTI) in Kansas, compared outcomes in democracies for ethnic minorities under reserved seats as opposed to those without reserved seat systems, and investigated the nexus between human trafficking, drug trafficking, and terrorism in Central Asia.
Hillsborough County Public Schools, Tampa - Substitute Teacher
Before starting the PhD program I served as a substitute teacher for K-12 schools in the Tampa area in order to gain teaching experience before becoming a GTA. Improved my understanding of the skills, capabilities and expectations of students completing high school and heading to the next level.
Kansas Legislative Research Department - Fellow
I supported the legislative appropriations process by developing a budget analysis for several State agencies, monitoring legislative fiscal changes, and testifying before the legislative budgetary committees. I also conducted quantitative and qualitative research and analysis for individual legislators on a variety of topics such as federal energy subsidies, state voting requirements, and water management in the Midwest.
Hillsborough Literacy Council – Tutor
Working with adults learning to read, and with students who are learning to speak and read English.
Surman Sansthan Orphanage – Teacher
Taught English to children in Jaipur, India through conversation and workbooks, and developing their creative skills through art.
Habitat For Humanity - Construction

We worked to educate Kansas students and the Lawrence community about India’s traditional music and cultural heritage by bringing in notable vocalists and musicians from both India and across the United States.
US Secret Service, Washington DC - Intern
I sorted and classified counterfeit currency for the national database, and gained a better understanding of federal government processes.
